For years, Egyptian mothers have innovated authentic costumes that you can’t find anywhere else in the world. They are creepier than Harley Quinn and more dreadful than The Nun Halloween costumes. Moms celebrate Halloween every single day of the year. Here are some daily scary mommy moments:

The lifesaver “Isdal”

It’s mothers’ favorite outfit that they choose to wear every day while taking their kids to the school bus. Waking up at 5:30 am, preparing the lunchbox, and getting their kids ready for school consumes all the energy or time needed to choose a proper outfit.

The misleading costume “Semi-Isdal”

Every day mothers learn time-saving hacks that help make their daily tasks easier. That’s why Egyptian mommies innovated this costume to save them from situations they prefer to avoid. While Isdal works in some situations, it takes time to figure where to fit your arms and head inside the isdal. The semi-isdal works perfectly when a mother has a few minutes to hang some laundry in the balcony or when the delivery man shows up and she’s in her pajamas.

The zombie mother

Sometimes you can’t figure out if a mother is alive or dead. At times, she looks like nothing but a zombie. You see this woman functioning and finishing work and house chores but with black circles around her eyes, and of course messy hair.

Halloween in Egypt: Harmless Fun or Loss of Identity?

She is probably the mother of a toddler and a newborn. She doesn’t sleep at day or night. She spends the night with her newborn and spends the day with her toddler who never misses a chance to stain her clothes with spaghetti sauce. Horrifying enough?

Mother of dragons

The mother of dragons is the mother of three boys. That’s the only reason you need to understand why there’s fire coming out of her body. She is not welcomed in any place for more than 10 minutes because of her three not-so-angelic kids. Peeing on her face is her normal. Her horror song is Nancy Agram’s Ya Bannat.

The hubby costume

We don’t know why husbands’ clothes become our favorite after having kids. It might be because mothers realize that their usual outings have become their kids’ swimming classes on a cold rainy winter night. A mom would choose a hoodie over a Prada coat.
