As you enter your 9th month of pregnancy, the big day approaches. That’s why you should have your delivery bag packed and ready by the door, just in case you get any sudden symptoms that you’ll be giving birth.

So, in order to help you get organized, here’s a check list for everything you could possibly need by our wonderful Rahet Bally mamas with a few extras we thought could help:

For mom: 

  • Night gown with buttons
  • Long robe
  • Nursing Bra
  • Underwear
  • High-waist cotton underwear
  • Dry pads
  • Stomach belt for after delivery
  • Slippers (Woolen socks if delivering in winter)
  • Breast Pad
  • Turban or cotton scarf (if veiled)
  • Hair band and Brush
  • Nursing cover
  • Lip balm
  • Toiletries: Shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, body spray, facial wash, body cream, shower gel, sponge.
  • Tooth brush and toothpaste
  • Face towel and bath towel
  • Hair Dryer
  • Make up
  • Nipple cream
  • Breastfeeding nipple shield
  • A loose outfit to wear while leaving the hospital.
  • Phone and Charger
  • Wallet
  • Ear phones
  • Snacks (Dried plums for the constipation)
  • RhoGam shot (If you have Rh-negative blood type and it is not available at the hospital)


For Baby: 

  • 3-5 undershirts
  • 4 newborn whole body suits (with closed feet)
  • Cotton gloves (and make sure the baby wears them straight away to prevent facial scratching.
  • Headcap
  • Cardigan
  • 1-2 cotton blankets
  • Heavy blanket (if giving birth in winter)
  • Swaddle blanket (Optional)
  • Pacifier
  • 2-3 Baby bottles
  • 3 baby bath towel
  • Diapers (Newborn size)
  • Diaper rash cream
  • Medical earings (If you are having a girl)
  • Body wash or shampoo
  • Baby brush
  • Small towel for changing diapers
  • Carseat (Stroller if needed)
  • Carrycot


For dads: 

  • Pyjamas
  • Comfortable shorts or pants
  • Slippers or crocs
  • Jeans and a t-shirt or hoodie
  • Bath towel
  • Deodorant
  • Comb or hairbrush

For visitors: 

  • Chocolates
  • Giveaways
  • Baby Decorations for room
  • Juice
  • water
  • Biscuits
  • Disposable cups


  • Hospital Letter
  • ID and Insurance Card
  • Camera and charger
  • Vitamins
  • Praying clothes and mat
  • Kettle + tea/nescafe, anise, sugar
